MAINTENANCE MANAGER

JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY:

To reduce the barest minimum breakdown of Machine, trucks, forklifts and vehicles by ensuring that a well-planned preventive and effective corrective and conditioning maintenance is put in place and adhered to.

Duties and responsibilities:

  1. Responsable for all equipment that belongs
  2. Maintain all vehicles (light, heavy and forklifts) including the trucks.
  3. Act promptly on all reported defects on trucks and other vehicles and ensure that they are always in good wing conditions.
  4. Draw up and/or follow maintenance program schedule for all light vehicle and trucks in Siguiri site or all subsidiary of COMPANY in the WA region.
  5. Keep records on all maintenance jobs done on vehicles (light, heavy duty,
  6. Isotanker/trailer) and train personnel under his control.
  7. Liaise with the protocol/purchasing department to ensure that all vehicles(light/heavy duty)documentation including road road worthy certificates, insurance and others are valid.
  8. Ensure that all vehicles(light and heavy and isotanker/trailer)are properly maintained and their daily checklists properly filled.
  9. Ensure that the programmed maintenance schedule for trucks vehicles are strictly followed and their checklists filled by the operators/users of these machines.
  10. Responsible for the safety training and welfare of subordinates
  11. Responsible for the day-to-day organization of personnel at the engineering department and other sites where planned maintenance is to be carried out.
  12. Responsible for the maintenance of the production plant.
  13. Train and Develop personnel in the Department.

Reporting on issues:

The post holder shall report to the Project Manager and shall liaise with the supervisors of his section to ensure that the machine, trucks and vehicles are properly maintained and documented.

Education/Qualifications

  • Mechanical Engineer Degree/diploma

Professional Experience

  • At least three years working experience in the managerial position

Other skills (languages, IT, other technical knowledge)

  • Able to speak and read English is an advantage
  • Able to speak , write and read in French is priority
  • Technical knowledge
  • Knowledge of Computer tools and package (Ms Word, Excel, Power Point etc.) are valued
  • Good communication skills in English (both written and oral) are valued
  • Software application in fleet Management.
